We teach. You create.
Improv
Learn to create theatre without a script.
At the New Improv Theatre, we focus on creating improvised theatre and comedy using acting and improvisation techniques. Through ensemble work, character, relationships, listening, and play, you'll develop the skills to create compelling scenes, stories, and performances entirely in the moment.
Sketch
Learn to create comedy from an idea.
Using the foundations of improvisation, we explore how simple premises become original sketch comedy. You'll discover different sketch structures, genres, and comedy formats while learning to build scenes on your feet, develop characters, and shape ideas into engaging comedic narratives.
Storytelling
Learn to tell stories without a script.
Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do. Explore story structure, narrative patterns, and character-driven storytelling while developing the confidence to create compelling stories in the moment. Whether improvised or crafted, great stories are what connect performers with audiences.

Kinsella
I'm an improviser, theatre-maker, and coach with over a decade of international performance and teaching experience. My training includes work with Keith Johnstone, UCB, The Second City, Bad Dog Theatre Company, Improv Theatre Sydney, École Philippe Gaulier, and École Jacques Lecoq, and my approach blends physical theatre, bold storytelling, and deep ensemble play.
As the founder of the New Improv Theatre, I help performers of all experience levels build confidence, trust their instincts, and create bold, connected performances through improv and sketch comedy. I've coached ensembles developing original work for festivals and stage shows, helping teams strengthen their collaboration, discover richer characters, and create more dynamic performances.
